Awesome Abel Tasman Nat. Park

I gave a lift to, and enjoyed the company of, an amazing young German couple (Josephine and Michael) who have hiked the length of North and South Islands. This took 5 months. They’re now filling in the gaps around the edge…..RESPECT!

We arrived late just as the sun was setting over the flats at low tide.

No cars, no bikes, water taxis up the coast if you wanted to hike back (me – even then it was 24km) For me that’s impressive!

Wilderness and Fuck-me walking trails. The weather was awesome as was the light. Enjoy this lot as I did – in chronological order – to give you some ides of my day out.

Beach drop-off after visiting the, ‘world famous’ (in new Zealand) split-apple rock, then a hike up the mountains, through the forest and down with amazing coves to descend to and explore all along the track.
